Sushi: Quality Vs. Quantity

Scenario: Let’s say you’re super hungry, on a super tight budget, and absolutely love sushi.

Question: What are you going to do?

Answer: You’ll probably end up grabbing a burger and fries.

Let’s face it – a Japanese food diet can do wonders for your health but leave your wallet clinging to life. So what is a poor sushi lover to do? For starters, think “quality vs. quantity.” Sushi is all about quality. In this context, I’m referring to quantity not in terms of the amount of food, but rather for the other things you might be paying for when you’re at a sushi restaurant. The sushi and Japanese food craze that has swept the world over the past 10 years has definitely created some very trendy establishments where you’ll pay a premium to eat there. But what are you eating…? The décor, chairs, fancy pictures...? No. You’re there to eat the food. For the most part, you won't find a “hole in the wall” sushi restaurant in North America, but you know what I mean.
