Top Japanese Restaurants In Amsterdam (netherlands)

Amsterdam has a high proportion of Japanese Restaurants compared to other European countries.  If you are a fan of Japanese cuisine and you will be visiting Amsterdam, two restaurants that you simply must visit would be Sonchi Sushi Wok and Yamazato.

Yamazato

Yamazato is located at Ferdinand Bolstraat 333 in the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam. They specialize in authentic Japanese cuisine and offer over 50 different menu items. This restaurant also creates a traditional Japanese ambience with 15th and 16th century Sukiya style decor.

This restaurant received a 27 out of 30 Zagat rating and also received very good reviews from customers. One review came from a customer that said Yamazato was the best Japanese restaurant they have eaten at in all of Europe. They said that the food is surprisingly flavorful. Another review came from a woman who said her husband took her there for her birthday. They ordered from the seasonal menu with a complimentary wine selection and she said that it was one of their most memorable meals.

The restaurant also has a beautiful garden.

A few of the reviews we found online were from people that said they felt that the restaurant was a bit overpriced but most customers felt that the food and service was top notch and that it was worth the price.  

Sonchi Sushi Wok

Sonchi Sushi Wok is located at Van Woustraat 58 in Amsterdam. The head chef has over 24 years of experience and that experience comes through in the quality of the food. Sonchi Sushi Wok is known for having fresh ingredients and some of the most delicious Japanese food in Amsterdam.  Its delivery is also fast and neat if you ever need takeout. Sonchi Sushi Wok has received a Zagat rating of 29 out of 30 and has received excellent reviews from customers as well.

One review came from someone that was visiting Amsterdam on vacation and said that it was nearly impossible to find a restaurant that serves food after 10 PM. They found Sonchi Sushi Wok by accident, simply because it was close to where they were staying and was one of the only places that served food late at night.  The restaurant serves stirfried rice and noodle dishes until 1 AM. This person described the stirfry as addictive.
